Frequently Asked Questions

    • We only use the best materials when manufacturing our covers. Fabric technology has changed a lot over the past few years.  Gone are the days of the old heavy acrylic canvas, making way for lighter, stronger marine fabrics.
    • Our covers are made with Hydrofend®, a marine-grade polyester woven from durable monofilament yarn. It delivers up to six times the water resistance of uncoated fabrics while staying breathable, and is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Stock colors: Bold Black, Military Tan, Admiral Navy, Olympic Blue, Meteor Grey, and Iron Grey. No color bleeding or rub-off. Doesn’t sag like acrylic fabrics. Provides a much richer appearance than shade cloth or PVC fabrics.

  • There are applications other than covers that are more suitable for an acrylic type fabric such as Sunbrella.
  • Bimini tops, Marine Enclosures, and Cockpit covers are often made using Sunbrella fabrics

Hydrofend
One of the best things about Hydrofend® is its excellent cleanability. Just use mild soap and water with a soft bristle brush and finish off with a rinse. Regular care and cleaning of Hydrofend is not only easy, it helps to maintain the life of the fabric.

General cleaning:

  • Brush off loose dirt
  • Prepare a solution of 2 ounces mild soap (e.g. Woolite or Dawn dishwashing liquid) and 1 gallon lukewarm water
  • Use a soft bristle brush to clean
  • Rinse thoroughly with cold water
  • Air dry

Deep cleaning for tough stains:

  • Prepare a solution of 1 cup bleach and 1 gallon water
  • Lightly spray the solution on the non-coated side. Be careful not to soak the fabric — overexposure to harsh chemicals may damage the fabric’s coating. Do not leave on longer than 2 minutes
  • Rinse immediately and thoroughly, then air dry

Note: after using bleach or other harsh cleaners, Hydrofend may require a retreatment to restore its water repellency. We recommend using 303® Fabric Guard™.

Give us a call at either location to talk with one of our experts about your boat so we can ensure we are providing you with the best cover for your needs.

  • Mooring/dust covers are secured using a rope and ratchet system.
  • Trailerable covers are secured using a heavier duty webbing and stainless ratchets. There are some minor design changes as well to aid in trailerablity, to minimize “ballooning” of the cover while traveling down the highway.  There is also added reinforcements on trailerable covers.

We provide reinforcements as necessary depending on the type of boat and cover. Rest assured that any stress points on the cover will have the required protection.

You will need to reach out to your local dealer or buy the cover through the OEM website. They will then issue the order to us to produce the cover and ship it out.
